As you can appreciate putting on an event like this is a massive undertaking, and it would not be possible without your support. The aim of this festival is to encourage the local community to get involved, not just on the day but also in the planning and lead up to the event. We want to ensure that this event reflects what the Woden Valley community wants – and you are an essential part of this.
Volunteering before the festival can involve:
- Being a part of the festival management committee currently held at
the Woden Community Service. For more details contact Astoria 6234 6837.
. - And/or taking on a organisational tasks.
. - And/or giving your input to the running of the festival.
. - Examples of tasks you could do are :- PR, liaising with schools, sponsorship, creating appropriate signs decorations, etc
Volunteering at the festival would involve:
- Maximum of a three hour shift
- Lunch
- Letter of reference on skills and commitment involved
- Certificate of thanks
- Invitation to celebratory/thank you dinner after the festival, to volunteers for their contribution to the success of the festival
- Examples of tasks you could do are: handing out festival showbags, being a festival host, logistics helper, cleanup after the festival, etc
There are also many other volunteering opportunities that you could do at the Woden Community Centre as an extension to the festival.
