Assistant Coordinators

Woden Community Service is a child safe organisation, committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children entrusted to our care. We demonstrate this commitment through embedding of the Child Safe Standards in culture, policies, procedures and practice.

We are seeking committed and inspiring Assistant Coordinators to join our teams on a permanent part-time basis.

Our OSHC services provide children with recreation-based activities with emphasis on social interaction and a sense of fun in a safe and secure environment. A range of activities are offered including crafts, sports, games, dramatic play, nature based play, cooking and excursions.

While we have current vacancies at Red Hill, Torrens and Curtin, vacancies may become available in our other OSHC Services within the Canberra region, and we encourage applicants to express their interest.

Why WCS?

  • 25 hours per week, $29.28 to $30.17 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus 10% superannuation

Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV in School Age Care, Youth Work, Education Support, Lifestyle and Leisure OR completed 1 year of any degree and have 1 year of experience working with children over preschool age
  • Extensive skills, knowledge and experience in OSHC, including demonstrated use of the My Time, Our Place framework and the Early Years Learning Framework
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team
  • Current First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis

Under WCS policy, staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19. During the recruitment process you will be asked to confirm your COVID-19 vaccination status or approved exemption.

Also to be eligible for employment, you must also have an ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Card, working rights in Australia, and be willing to undertake background checks required for the position.
