Minds Together
Support, skills and guidance for those caring for someone experiencing suicidal distress or recovering from a suicide attempt.
What is the Program
Minds Together is a free program for family, friends and carers supporting someone experiencing suicidal distress, or recovering from a suicide attempt. It was developed by Everymind, in partnership with the ACT Health and Community Services Directorate and here in Canberra, Woden Community Service delivers the face-to-face sessions.
Participants build practical skills and confidence for supporting a loved one, including how to talk about suicide, respond to stigma and navigate the complex emotions that come with caring for someone. It also looks at the impact caring can have on your own wellbeing, with practical strategies for self-care and resilience.
You’ll hear from other families, friends and carers with lived experience, as well as suicide prevention experts and connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
How our sessions run
We deliver Minds Together as two 3-hour sessions, held face-to-face across two consecutive weeks. It’s designed to build coping skills while protecting your own wellbeing as you support someone else.

This program is for people aged 18 years and over who are:
