The Way Back Support Service TWBSS is a voluntary, non-clinical suicide aftercare program designed to provide support and guidance to individuals who have experienced a recent suicide attempt or suicidal crisis. The program offers up to 12 weeks of outreach to help participants in their recovery and ongoing mental health well-being.
Eligibility
The program is open to people who has experienced a recent suicide attempt (4 weeks) or a recent suicidal crisis (e.g. significant suicidal ideation with planning and intent).
A referral must also be made through the following referral pathway below.
Referral Pathway
Referrals to The Way Back Support Service are accepted via the ACT Digital Health Record (DHR).
Referrals can be made by clinicians working within ACT public health services, including:
External providers (including most GPs and private services) cannot refer directly. However, GPs and community providers can support referral by linking in with an ACT Health service that has DHR access.
