Holiday fun!

Chalk play at Garran FB

The holiday programs based at schools in Garran, Red Hill, Duffy and Curtin are in full swing and the children are having a great time.

Swimming at CISAC pool, bouncing around at Inflatable World, exploring the National Library and checking out the reptiles at Snakes Alive at the National Botanic Gardens are some of the highlights on the program.

Back at the hall there are also lots of activities on the go including cooking, pavement art, woodwork, games and general playtime.

“At the end of the day when I pick up my kids they are tired from a great day but don’t want to go home,” said one parent.

“At pick up time I find them fully engaged in a game the kids have created,” she said.

“My kids are usually playing in a big group, but it is also really lovely to see a number of the educators sitting with a small group of kids and playing a board game with them or teaching them how to play chess,” she explained.
