Floriade is bursting out of Commonwealth Park and heading to the Woden Town Square from 12 to 3pm on Saturday 5 October.
Bring along your picnic blanket and enjoy an afternoon of food, drinks from the Pop Inn wine bar, live music and family entertainment. You’ll also get to meet Floriade’s famous pink gnome!
In conjunction with Floriade in the Suburbs, at the same time and place, is the Woden Business Showcase, featuring stalls and information from an array of local businesses and organisations that operate in the Woden area, including Woden Community Service.
There will also be three art workshops for free starting with a Floriade themed workshop for children run by Studio Connect.
“Design Out Waste” is a recycling workshop with Rachel Develin that allows people to drop-in and make small, beautiful flowers from recycled materials.
Artist Bryce Scowcroft’s Mixed Media Street Art workshop is for people of all ages to contribute towards a large floral design on canvas, using coloured paper, paint and found or recycled objects.
On display in the Woden Experiment will be paper flowers made by children from Garran Primary School in the Learning in Community (LinC) program.
Come along, take a look and join in on the creative fun.
