UPDATE: Status of all WCS services during Aug/Sep 2021 COVID lockdown

Please see below the status of all the different areas of service that WCS offers at this time during the recent lockdown in the ACT.

WCS Children’s Services

Early Learning Centres

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

Current status

Lollipop and Lyons operating.

Griffith OSHC will be closed for the duration of the lockdown.

All Griffith preschool families have been asked by Red Hill School to attend Red Hill main campus if their child needs to attend school therefore we will not operate the OSHC during this time. Griffith preschool is a remote campus of the Red Hill School so this is their internal decision.

Any changes to service

Strict hygiene, parent access limited, and practise physical distancing as much as possible.

There are new parent sign in/out procedures, even more hygiene measures, particularly around cleaning of toys, surfaces, playground equipment, and limiting the number of parents on site.

Aged Care services are continuing with physical distancing and infection control practices used. No service if COVID symptoms present.

This includes:

  • Transport to medical and essential appointments
  • Personal care and domestic assistance services
  • Shopping support
  • Telephone support

All WCS mental health services have moved to phone and online support. Most group activities have moved online.

WCS Mental Health programs are open for referrals. This includes:

  • Continuity of Support (CoS)

The Little Pantry is operating for emergency food relief during the current lockdown. Community can access this service Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.

Community are to call reception on 6282 2644, to book a time to collect pre-packaged hampers.

WCS Housing and Homeless Services

Support is currently being provided over the phone. 

STS will be keeping a keen eye on any developments in regards to evictions during this period.

OneLink is delivering the same services and has returned to face-to-face service delivery.

The team has been split across two geographical locations to ensure continuity of service.
