“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” you may have heard this said many times but you may not know of the extraordinary woman who penned those words. Today is the Duchess who wasn’t day. The Duchess was the pen name of Margaret Wolfe Hungerford who wrote “Molly Bawn” where our quote comes from and 56 additional books. Born in county Cork, Ireland, Margaret became a serious author after her husband’s passing to support her family. It had been a hobby since school.
Little did she know she would become so important that we still use her words today. If you have a story, we encourage you to share it, Write it or record it. At Woden Community Service we have been sharing stories from our community for 53 years
If you want to start a podcast get in touch with Woden Library, they have spaces set up rather than buying all that equipment yourself and keep an eye on us or contact WCS Community we support projects to help the community connect. Contact reception if you have an idea for the community
