This Easter School Holidays, The Family Case Management team choose the theme of ‘Literacy and Numeracy’ when creating activity packs to deliver to our case management families. Two of our case managers had participated in ‘Let’s Read’ and Let’s count’ training which focused on empowering parents to teach basic numeracy and literacy skills to their infants using fun games, activities and everyday household items, to help build these early leaning foundational skills in preparation for pre-school. The case managers brought lots of resources, ideas and activities from their training and we wanted to utilise this and share this great knowledge and resources with our families.
Included in the activity packs were games, instruction pages of fun counting and measuring activities, in addition to measuring cups, a tape measure and dominos. We also incorporated reading material for parents, that outlined fun and easy ways to incorporate counting, math and reading into their day to day routines with their children.
We delivered the activity packs to each family in the week leading up to the school holidays and we hope that our families enjoyed engaging in the fun and educational activities with their children.
