A belated happy birthday to Maureen, who is a member of our Latte Ladies Coffee Group.
Maureen grew up in the war era, a tough time for many Australians.
She went on to marry and raised 3 children, all of whom joined the military. When her husband passed away, Maureen was only 45 years old and decided to join the NSW Police Force. Later on, she returned to Canberra to help with her grandchildren and decided to go back into police work joining the Australian Federal Police.
Amazingly, Maureen still continues to work today, having become a Justice of the Peace some 35 years ago – a public duty she has taken very seriously.
Maureen is a very fit and bubbly lady, walking a mile each day and socialising regularly with family and friends.
In 2019 she decided to join our lovely Latte Ladies Coffee Group. Maureen says how much she looks forward to the company of the amazing women in this group, “I just love every minute with them!”
Today these ladies with our staff Joh and volunteers Vicky and Margaret celebrated Maureen’s 95th birthday with her in the beautiful Café Nina.
At Goodwin Village Farrer, I’m sure that many would agree that life can be well lived, enjoying each day as Maureen has done.
We would also like to thank Goodwin and Nina’s for their support of our Ladies’ Group each Wednesday.
