Woden Community Service (WCS) provides a unique experience for children at Evatt School. We offer a 9am – 3pm Preschool program for children 3-5 years of age with a dedicated early childhood teacher. We also provide quality before school, after school and school holiday programs for children from 3 years old to Year 6.
Evatt Preschool
Evatt Preschool Program offers a safe, secure and stimulating environment for your child and our friendly and qualified educators have your child’s best interests at heart. The structured program focuses on education outcomes and school readiness while providing a small group environment with a high educator to child ratio.
Out of School Hours Care
Evatt OSHC provides a safe and caring environment with recreation based activities that allow for choice, spontaneity and flexibility. At Evatt OSHC, our programs aim to celebrate diversity and recognise that play, fun, and humour are vital to school age care. Our educators also recognise the importance of building respectful relationships with children, families, the community and the environment.
Juniors Before School Care
Our Juniors Before School Care program caters for children 3 years old to Kindergarten. We serve a nutritious breakfast and offer inside and outdoor activities to engage your child’s brain as they start their day.
The program operates out of the WCS Preschool building. Our educators escort children who attend the ACT government preschool to the outdoor space and hand them to the preschool teachers, and escort kindergarten children to their classroom.
Juniors After School Care
Our Juniors After School Care program caters for children 3 years old to Kindergarten. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and offer an inclusive environment with a focus on building children’s social skills, resilience and connection to their world.
The program operates out of the WCS Preschool building. Our educators collect children who attend the ACT government preschool from the outdoor space, and collect kindergarten children from their classroom.
Seniors Before School Care
Our Seniors Before School Care program operates out of the school hall and caters for children in years 1-6. We serve a nutritious breakfast and offer inside and outdoor activities to engage your child’s brain as they start their day.
Seniors After School Care
Our Seniors After School Care program operates out of the school hall and caters for children in years 1–6. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and offer an inclusive environment with a focus on building children’s social skills, resilience and sustainability.
Our After School care programs allow for regular interactions between the Juniors and Seniors programs, which we believe helps to build relationships and a sense of community.
School Holiday Program
Our service at Evatt Primary provides a school holiday program for children aged 3 years to grade 6. Each school holidays we aim to provide a blend of excursions, incursions and in-service activities, we believe that this caters for all families and mimics a home like environment. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and ask families to provide morning tea and lunch for their child.
The educational program and list of activities offered are available on the Monday of week 6 of each school term.
