At Garran Primary School, Woden Community Service (WCS) provides quality after school and school holiday programs for children in Preschool to Year 6 and before school care and a school holiday program for children in Kindergarten to Year 6.

Our programs promote social and emotional growth, while supporting children to explore the world around them. We offer a variety of creative, social, imaginative and dynamic activities with a strong emphasis on child representation at before school, after school and school holiday program. Our programs are highly flexible and pride themselves on representing children’s voices and supporting their self agency.

Before School Care

Our Before School Care program caters for children from Kindergarten to Year 6. We serve a nutritious breakfast and offer inside and outdoor activities to engage your child’s brain as they start their day.

The program operates out of the school hall. Our educators escort Kindergarten children to ‘lines’. All other children make their way from the hall to lines.

Juniors After School Care

Our Juniors After School Care program caters for children in Preschool and Kindergarten. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and offer an inclusive environment with a focus on building children’s social skills, resilience and connection to their world.

The program operates out of the Preschool on Robson St. At 3pm, our educators collect children from the Preschool, and the Kindergarten children from their classroom, and walk them to the school hall for afternoon tea. The educators then walk all the children from the school to preschool at approximately 3.30pm for the main program.

Seniors After School Care

Our Seniors After School Care program caters for children in Year 1 – 6. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and offer an inclusive environment with a focus on building children’s social skills, resilience and sustainability. The program operates out of the school hall.

Garran Juniors and Seniors after school care programs have regular interactions with one another, which we believe helps support the transition for children moving between our programs, as well as building relationships and a sense of community.

School Holiday Program

Our service at Garran Primary provides a school holiday program for children in Kindergarten to Year 6. During school holidays, we provide a blend of excursions, incursions and in-service activities. This caters for all families and mimics a home like environment. We serve a nutritious snack for afternoon tea and ask families to provide morning tea and lunch for their child.

The educational program and list of activities offered are available on the Monday of week 6 of each school term.

Program: available soon.

Bookings for Spring School Holiday Program open at 10am on Monday 21st August 2023.
